Really, I can't believe they made this announcement prior to Vera-Werdum. Honestly, Mir is worse than both and Arlovski would make short work of Mir and Gonzaga most likely. Mir isn't even top 10. And this is the HW division I'm talking about. Where is Eddie Sanchez's shot?

I enjoy Mir's commentary on WEC fights; he offers nice technical insights at times. Whether that will translate into good coaching is another matter.

As for Mir/Nog...what is the fucking point!? It's Nog against someone very similar, but worse in every way. Worse conditioning, worse toughness, worse jj, worse wrestling, worse boxing, perhaps Mir has better kicks not that we'll see any of them. Mir is like a lesser version of Nog. Mir aspires to be like Nog, but never will be.

Arlovski's good, but short work? He's got a dodgy knee and Gonzaga has probably the best low kicks of the heavyweight division. And his Jits is world-class. I don't count out Arlovski, but I'm not sure he would still be walking without a limp by round three.

Doesn't Mir have a fight coming up against McCully? Shouldn't they have waited until after that fight to announce that Mir was a coach? I mean what if he loses? Then you got a guy with a recent loss coaching against the current HW champ and he gets a title shot at the end of the season. Bad decision making going on here.
