naga is nothing like the pan ams. depending on the event and location it can be as big, and as organized, but it usually isn't.
usually they split the bigger comps into 2 days, one for kids and one for adults, but i don't know if the one in georgia will be big enough. many times they overbook small venues and squeeze everything into one day, and it's a nightmare. hopefully you don't get one of those.
also they use very different rules, and have seperate rule sets for both gi and no-gi. the pan-ams is a much more prestigious tournament. naga isn't even a bjj tournament, just submission grappling. i wouldn't expect nearly the same level of competition as you saw in the pan ams.Last edited by M-Tri; 3/20/2008 12:12pm at .
FACT- Eddie Bravo invented the triangle choke when he used it to tap out helio gracie at an ac/dc concert.

I'll be there tommorow. The venue this time is a good one, 1000 car parking lot, 3 full size wrestling mats, big changing rooms and bathrooms.
It's scheduled for one day. Kids divisions start right after the rules meeting, adult divisions are supposed to start around 11:30. I think that's hopelessly optimistic. I don't expect adults to start until 1pm and I expect my division (Adult, No-Gi, Beginner, 130 - 139.9lbs) to go somewhere around 5. -

My boy took the Heavy Weight, Novice, No-Gi division. I won my first match via awesomeness including a huge takedown/suplex and a second takedown/trip and a bunch of slick transitions. Unfortunately that match didn't get videoed. The second match did, which I lost due to exhaustion of the arms because I'm fucking Iron deficient and got completely fatigued after the first match, to the point that I couldn't open my freaking water bottle. ARGGHH.
I looked for you WS, but didn't see you anywhere. There were a lot of Knuckle Up guys there and several guys from Alliance. Good turnout and it ran REALLY smooth this time. We were home eatting dinner in Athens by like 6.
