Hi. I was just wondering, do you absolutley have to go on a diet to build muscle? Because I know this guy (well I don't know him personally but i've seen him) he eats pizza, fried chicken, drinks beer, eats fries and burgers but he has a 6 pack abs, huge arms chest and shoulders, and has ripped legs. Does this guy have a fast metabolism or something, or does it have to do with you don't have to go on a diet to build muscle? Thanks. Ja ne

no...you don't diet to build muscle but you cut back on calorie intake so you can see those muscles you work for. You can pump all you want and get strong but if you want to see the rips, you got to cut down on you cal intake. but i hear weight training increases your metabolism a bit, though i may be wrong. But hey not everyopne is bless or cursed with high meta so we have to cut back on the snacks and work hard to see the stuff we want.

What Kage said.
If someone is just starting to seriously weight train, and their diet remains more or less the same, one can probably expect some fat loss and muscle gain at the same time. The degree to which that happens quickly diminishes though. To get big(ger) and cut without dieting, you basically gotta be cut to begin with. Otherwise, dieting is in your future.

"but i hear weight training increases your metabolism a bit, though i may be wrong."
Weight training is the most intense type of exercise possible and requires much energy to do.
Additionally heart rate does go up also burning more calories.
Provided protien goes into your mouth muscle growth will occur.
Muscles also requires further amounts of energy (calories) and protien to maintain....
Importance after weight training is protein intake.
You can search for the types of protein to intake elsewhere or I can find an article.....
There is NOTHING WRONG WITH GOING ON A DIET. Think of it as a plan.
I am on a weight gaining diet myself, it involves a lot of eating. :D

He eats whatever he wants, but I forgot to mention he also takes this stuff called "Ripped fuel" or something like that. Maybe that's what makes his muscles build. I also heard that even if you don't diet, the fat eventually turns into muscle. Not sure if it's true or not though.

**** **** **** ****!
Not only do I have to reply to a stupid ignorant post I accidentally hit the reload button and **** it all up...
1. Smack that idiot that says fat turns to muscle. Not true at all.
2. Do your own freaking research on the internet regarding diet.
3. Ripped Fuel stimulates the heart (one of the things it does) so it basically beats faster and therefore burns more calories......
