Teaching Someone to Keep Their Elbows In

So, a while ago, I started teaching my girlfriend some basic punching techniques. We worked on the jab and right cross via shadowboxing and padwork. One problem I noticed she had big time was keep her elbow in when punching, especially on the right cross. It was flagging out majorly.
I was thinking of trying to have her throw punches while standing with her right side against a wall, so as that her elbow will be forced to stay in while punching. Anyone have any other ideas on how I can best correct this problem?

The wall punch has worked for me as far as just a pure training techniques. The other is drilling the student in the ribs when you see the opening. That forces them to learn real quick.

Hitting the ribs as hard as you can is the best way to train your girlfriend. <-- Sarcasm

Honestly you are probably doomed to failure as far as perfecting the finer techniques when training a loved one of the opposite sex. <-- Experience

The armpit thing is usually for upper cuts.

Just tell her to keep her elbows in, it is not a hard concept to understand.

Ok, I don't mean to be read, but who the **** deleted my post?

I made an excellent point about the fact that McClaw has limited striking experience and is trying to teach striking to someone else. Isn't it obvious that he shouldn't be doing this?

Isn't it obvious that if he really wants his girlfriend to learn how to punch he should have her go to a boxing/kickboxing/muay thai gym?

Also, to add a bit of personal experience to this, sometime ago, when I actually had a girlfriend, she asked me to show her how to box. That **** was hopeless since she never punched before, and I wasn't a very good coach. You know, since I didn't ahve that much experience.

My advice is to focus on fighting and leave the coaching to the coaches.
