Hayato Sakurai/Rumina Sato why? Why? (spoilers)

I just watched the Hayato Sakurai versus David Baron on Shooto's 20th anniversary and I it's just one of those affairs when you see a fighter just strolling into the ring seemingly out of the street or the ramen stand! Christ! For somone knowned for his ferocity in younger years (maybe this is the point here) Sakurai seemed like he wanted to be somewhere else the entire fight.

He was outboxed, out kicked and OUTWRESTLED by Baron and eventually subbed by a guillotine choke! He looked gassed and out of shape and again...showed little to none will to fight! Maybe it's time for him to retire and concentrate on his new gym...breeding little shooters.

Rumina Sato..well he got subbed again! But he put up a good fight in the process...I just think that he's better off running a gym and also breeding new "shooters".

Oh and japanese judging raises it's ugly head once again with questionable decisions...with fighters being choked while the referee is separating them from falling through the ropes and stuff! Yummy :new_2guns

Are you serious? Man, Mach is my favourite fighter and I hate to hear that he's stopped caring as much. Maybe he'll regain his will to fight and go on for more crazy victories again. Still, that sucks if he didn't train properly.

I don't live in the US, but I think since it's a big country, you're bound to have one? A tiny one? We had one outside a famous japanese restaurant in the capital...oishiii!

I've had little luck with finding one in the states. Maybe I should start a chain...

Sakurai is done, he hasnt fought a ranked opponent for years now. He has quit training seriously it seems, he just doesnt care anymore.

A shame really, he truely is one of the greatest MMA fighters ever to grace the ring with his presence.

I was surprised Baron was able to finish the choke as well. He had one arm in and it seemed like Sakurai was almost out of the choke when he tapped.

Baron's standup was especially sloppy, I was expecting Mach to destroy him.

Sakurai unwillingness to arrive in fighting fitness made Baron look like a great mma fighter! His striking was sloppy but his grappling was so so...he pulled it didn't he?
