TUF 7 episode 5: A Matt and his dip
Couldnt find a thread
I though Dante lost that fight for sure
In japan where they score the fight on a whole based on damage yes. Here in the US where the rules are a 10 point must that tends to favor control over your opponent no.
That fight sucked so hard I almost busted a nut on the screen. Dear God almighty. It was such a fiasco that you had to think it was a shame that there must be a winner. Like, why couldn't they both lose?

Wow! Maybe, I'm not watching TUF the right way?

That fight did indeed blow. At least Rampage is consistant. "GET UP! STAND UP! JUST STAND BACK UP!"
Needs more daisy chain

While I agree with you, I think the judges generally tend to favor the guy in control, and Dante didn't take a ton of damage either. The shots weren't strong punches. If you're going to fight off your back learn some jits. He never really threatened much in the way of submission. Had he had some solid submission attempts to go with his strikes from bottom it probably would have swung the judges.
while the fight was definitely not a "crowd-pleaser" and wouldn't fill Dana's bitchy pockets, i didn't hate it. it reminded of fights from a few years ago, grapplers grinding out decisions against strikers while the audience booed.
don't hate the player, hate the game.
also, where was all this damage that was supposedly handed out. i didn't even see a busted lip or significant swelling from all those elbows.
