Those are ESCRIMA gloves. Of course he's asking about hitting people with sticks - not about empty hand sparring.

I stickfight with kempo gloves. It lets me transfer between empty hand and weapon sparring with the same gear. What I dislike about them is the wrist mobility is limited and sometimes you'll get hit in the fingertip, which sucks.

Lacrosse gloves, always. For stickfighting they are excellent in that they have very good protection, great finger dexterity, and the newer ones breath very well. I can't remember which model that I have now, but there are a lot of them in varying degrees of padding.
