Probably Tallahassee's finest gym for training MMA, this place has plenty of space, plenty of knowledge to share, and a great atmosphere for learning. Three main instructors are Josh Odom, Harrison Pfeiffer, and Dan Funes (http://www.tallahasseemma.com/instructors.html) who bring a wealth of knowledge of the sport to the little sleepy town of Tallahassee. Each of them has been a professional fighter at some time, and Josh Odom earned a spot with Frank Shamrock's fight team.
One of the most innovative and interesting parts of their gym is the philosophy on MMA (http://www.tallahasseemma.com/philosophy.html), and it is reinforced in class where the differences lie between grappling in high level competitions like NAGA and grappling in MMA or stand-up with striking only versus an MMA format.
Open from 12-8:15 almost every day, there is plenty of time to fit most any schedule. Fridays and Saturdays are the open mat days, Saturday and Sunday being the Private lesson days.
One can sign up for either fitness classes, or both fitness and MMA classes. Strong emphasis on conditioning in the fitness classes, with a little less in the technique classes. Each class is very organized with no wasted time.
School uses a "Shirt" grading scale (for "gold" program) going from White to Grey to Yellow (Yellow for fight team).
Good atmosphere for training with little to no ego anywhere.
If you're looking for fight experience and you're in the Tallahassee area, this is probably the best place to get it.
Depending on your contract, costs $90 for a full year, $110 for a four month, or $125 monthly. Contract is very loose, and instructors are very understanding with contractual problems. THEY ARE WILLING TO WORK WITH YOU.
A+++++ Will train here again.
