If that was Sherk's game plan..he was ill-advised. Why would he stand and trade like that , come out on the short end because he never closed the distance enough, and not use his wrestling skills?
I know Penn is good on the ground, but Sherk sure was eating that jab a lot. After a round and a half of that - its time to go for the shoot.
    I don't get it.
Actually, Sherk's punches are nice and compact when he throws them properly..he has short power, but when he was winging those weird hook/crosses ..after a while Penn was just getting out of range.
Tough night for Sherk and for Tito...
Well, I'm off to bed. It was a pretty good card though. One of the better one's I have seen in a while.

While I was kind of hoping for Tito to get a last dig at White (I pick Tito in the battle of the douchebags), the negativity being directed at Lyloto is crazy. He out fought Tito far and square, and was hardly backpedaling with NO fighting like the Starnes incident.

By the by, anybody else read about the after fight press drama?

BJ: Tonight I'm going to tell you kids a story about two men and a jab...
Kids: does it have a happy ending?
BJ: It does for BJ Penn.

Well I'm glad Tito was able to do SOMETHING in that fight at least. I wonder if he had any type of game plan for Machida's style at all. I kinda wouldn't be too surprised if Tito severely underestimated Machida's skill, or at least overestimated his own.

    Great card, great fights.

I was hoping to see some Judo from the Sokoudjou Nakamura fight though. :( Harai-goshi seems to be gaining popularity... Nice work from Yoshida.

I think this ufc showed how maintaining the proper distance is key. Ortiz and Sherk were really at a loss it seemed. Really smart fights for Penn and for Machida.

    And hooray Wandy!

It was an interesting fight. All 36 seconds of it.

All sarcasm aside, I like Jardine. But I wanted to see old Silva, and I got that. Yay.

Am I the only one who was bored to tears during the Penn/Sherk fight?

It was a subpar boxing match at best, with some of the worst commentating I have heard in quite some time. Ugh.

Silva v Mendes was pretty interesting though and Relvic v Gouveia was a really fun fight to watch.
