they're both BJJ still, but Machado seems to have a different process, i.e. they go for submission more often or they continually go for submissions etc. You'll probably see distinct difference in their styles of trainign in you research into it, e.g. the one mentioned above.

I heard something that Machado has more emphasis on takedowns and the clinch for getting a top position (along with the guard/mount stuff, duh...) than Gracie.
