You thought Michima's last fight was exciting? Sokojew (I don't know how to spell his name either) stalling out in half guard for half a round until he got submitted was incredibly boring. Also, that's how Tito acts before all his fights. I'm sure he's up in Big Bear training his ass off.

hahha well the sokodju fight had exciting PARTS in it compared to his other fights that i've saw that were real snoozers. I know Tito talks a load of **** before fights but yea it just doesn't seem like he's focused enough on it, but then again how would I know? So we'll see

I think Tito has, what we called in high school, 'senioritis'. It's his last fight with UFC (correct me if I'm wrong on this) and he doesn't care much if he wins or loses. He just wants to get his money and go home.

    Passing the torch

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned this fight as a 'torch-passing' ceremony of sorts, without the Tibetan protesters and arrests and such. Machida is being groomed to be 'brand-name' and for his last UFC fight, Tito is the brand name (although past his prime) star that Machida needs in his record to move up. I will be shocked if Tito wins. The fight almost seems like a formality to me at this point.

I think Tito actually has a reason to be motivated by this fight:
    To stick it to Dana.

He well knows that his foreseen role is to propel a currently unmarketable but very skilled fighter. I think he'd like to kill Machida just to **** over Dana.

I think unmarketable is a bad word. Machima is just not a highlight reel fighter. He fights slow and conservative with a lot of decision wins. Even his arm triangle victory was boring. He also doesn't speak english. This makes it harder for the UFC to market him.

Yeah, i wish he spoke english :(

But slow and conservative...if it works, it works, but i understand the "hard to market" part now.

Machida is one of the most technically solid MMA fighters in the world today. I think many guys will be avoiding fighting him in the future, because he is a master at neutralizing his opponents skills and making them look almost like amateurs.
