jiu-jitsu now academy in manassas. there are quite a few closer schools (and more every day...), but i just keep following andrew around.
it also looks like i might be at the show myself. one of my training partners has vowed to take up a collection and buy me a ticket. we shall see. -

Nice! Let me know if you go. I would love to meet someone from bullshido. Just curious about schools in the area. I'm going to get back into training in two weeks (been rehabing minor inujuries) but would like to train at dif schools. I tend to get pretty tired of training with the same people.

just got home. that was a GREAT show. had a lot of fun (after a very long seminar day, sorry i didn't get organized enough to find you).
the fights started with an armbar-slam-ko, and ended with a motherfucking knockout by SPRAWL.
we figure there were something like 2500 people there, hard to tell. we had fantastic seats, perfect view. one of my training partners had a better seat - he got drafted to operate one of the cage doors.
quite a number of celebrities for a small show at the patriot center; rampage, shogun, hermes, vera, arlovski, condit... frank trigg was doing commentary and interviews (hdnet?), mario yamasaki was the head ref and juanito was one of the cut men. most of them were happy to be photographed, most of the time. i don't think shogun stopped smiling for pictures till i was shoved next to him.
i watched a local girl talk up shogun and exchange phone numbers and text messages (and show off his knee), and then ten minutes later watched him do the same thing with a younger, hotter girl.
shogun was clearly not in the same weight class as rampage.
best scene of the night was during some extended walkout music, looking down to see rampage dancing with a slightly overweight 50 year old woman, both of them clearly enjoying themselves immensely. -
Mostly, I just sit here. Mostly.
