Nick's teaching now? How are you finding the classes?

Pardon my interjection. I have a long standing training colleague who recently transferred to Nick at Mill Hill. My colleague has a high opinion of the training and instruction from Nick.

I'm a fair distance from Mill Hill but would otherwise relish training under Nick. I've previously been invited to Trad JJ/Kali/Restraint seminars hosted in London at which he taught in concert with Barry Harte. All 3 sessions were quality ones and I learned each time. Both are apprentice instructors under Bob Breen and both are Trad JJ 4th Dans and honoured by Kevin Pell. (Don't know much about him except his policeman background - both Mil and Royal Parks - and I'm a bit sceptical but that's my own concern).
BTW, I shall keep an eye out for Keeley Hazell at SENI and I'll be ready iwth the magic Passwords - "South East Essex". How to recognise me, well......I'll be lurking.....

For getting my photo taken in the octagon? Why would I? I was posing for a photo, not fighting!

Just back, had an awesome day!
Managed to win my first fight with dominant positioning but couldn't get the sub. Lost the second by 2 points i think as my opponent got the take down. I managed to reverse it but couldn't fully pass his guard. Was very close to getting mount but just couldn't get my foot out!
Really enjoyed it though and i know what to expect now.
Things i learned:
a) my standup needs a LOT of work
b) My cardio needs EVEN MORE work than the standup (!)
c) I could do with being more aggressive/decisive
d) I need work on passing half guard
e) Need work on grip endurance
I feel it went well apart from that though, best part for me was Braulio saying i fought like a warrior! Think my next tourny will be an amateur MMA event in July.
The thing that really surprised me is how much i forgot, instinct seemed to take over. I got side control fairly early in the first fight and my mind went completely blank!
