hmmm, I think training recovery/hat-trick techs is ok. A good way to learn to improvise. The knee is arguable cause from that close in, you're potentially taking mostly thigh and you really can stuff the leg if you are tight to the opponent.
The shoulder is too high, dude could sprawl vs that, you've gotta be right ontop of the patella-tendon to lock up the leg.
I'd never advocate laying ontop of the leg like that, your opponent can use the mat to base his foot, drive the sole of his foot into the floor and negate the hold. Also, you can't see what your opponent is doing which is a big no-no in my book.
Better to sit up and face him or roll over so that the trapped leg is ontop of your body, not underneath.
Other than that, its fine-I guess. -
