Thread: Das Moose's competition footage

Interpretations vary on it - bear in mind all the competitions in ireland are run locally by coaches and not under the banner of any large group like the IBJJF or ADCC or anything - but I've heard its legal in a lot of places and at this tournament it was specifically mentioned in the rules meeting that it was legal.
Megalef has armbarred the correct as well - any time it's been legal in tournaments i've entered its been with the proviso of not pinching the hand.
And i mean really, is there any good reason for it to be illegal? How is pushing with the webbing of your hand any worse than usign your forearm to choke someone?

I just watched the top 2. I'll save the rest for later.
Really, really, solid grappling Moose. The guys you rolled against were pretty good too so overall great job.

Das Moose wins again! That first fellow was super-explosive, wasn't he?“Most people do not do, but take refuge in theory and talk, thinking that they will become good in this way” -- Aristotle, Nicomachean Ethics, II.4

LOL......man the last three guys were awful.
The first guy suffered from "HEY THERE IS A HEAD!!! PULL IT OFF!!!", don't mind the fact that your back is getting taken. I have never seen a school yard headlock work to finish a match. There is only one Carlos Newton...and the guy in the red shirt was not him.
I also think you should get another 4 points for releasing the body lock on one side and figure fouring it on the opposite side.
The final two guys didn't really stand a chance and you seemed to play with the last guy a little bit.
Anyway. Good patience and good transition control. Again, great matches Moose.

Nice, Moose! I like that x-guard sweep early on. Was it the gold for you, then?“Most people do not do, but take refuge in theory and talk, thinking that they will become good in this way” -- Aristotle, Nicomachean Ethics, II.4
