Great post Mav, the traditonalist in you is reflected in this post, not to mention the fact, that kick in your first fight, sweet.
I see that you mention warm ups and so forth, but may your readers ask for you to share more of the stretching techs you use and if possible a diagram of vid so that it is done correct.

I generally consider this a bad idea. I tried it for a while and it gave me little benefit. I've also heard it's bad for your tendons and joints. The effects for me were more than just the same stuff as without but with more weight. The timing and technique of my kicks changed. That's why I dropped this.
