it doesn't seem that bad if you want your kid to do as they're told :p.
Kids must:
Must brush their teeth every night and every morning without being asked.
Must make their bed every morning, no exceptions.
Must do their chores. The number of chores is determined by their belt rank.
Must be respectful at home.
Must be respectful at school.
Must read every day -

This guy looks like an idiot. He lists being an author of action novels among his qualifications! Avoid, please.

I doesn't talk about technique or the approach to combat it just shows pictures of kids with smiles. It doen't even describe an underlying philsophy of "BAKIDO"and they seem way too proud of their after school program. Questionable at best, at least for adults who want to fight, that is.
Secret moves such as hitting a thing with your hand and hitting a thing with your leg have been stolen and degenerated by arts like karate, boxing, muay-thai, Kung-fu, and basketball. -Epicurious

I figure fighting a group of chunners would be like water torture, its not the force as such, just the constant trickle of chain punches wearing down your sanity. -The Juggernoob -

There is certainly an alarming correlation between running a McDojo and having a desperate need for validation through credentials--even when those credentials are largely made up.
For example, you know that black belt in "Jung Mul Sul" Bainton has? Try finding mention of that art anywhere but in relation to him. How about his Doctorate of Philosophy from the College of Advanced Education and the Department of Martial Arts Studies? And what about that International Black Belt Hall of Fame? Can you find an actual website for it? I can't.
Other red flags are the astonishing number of 19-year olds with fifth degree black belts and the lack of explanation anywhere on the site for the details of the art Bainton invented. And not that it relates to anything, but those quasi-Chinese characters next to the dangling belts on the home page . . . Some are made-up, some are non-sensical and anything vaguely recognizable is upside down.

Oh yeah, and there's this kid.Last edited by Bang!; 11/18/2003 9:52am at .

looking at the school rules and other descriptions I would classify this as an afterschool activity center not a martial arts school...
And having Instructors promoted from 1st to 4th dan in 3 years and all of them being in the 'International Black Belt Hall of Fame' defenetely raises questions ! If all of them are already in a hall of fame (an international one no less) the hall must be gigantic ;-)
Technically I can't say this school is fake since they don't say anywhere they teach you how to defend yourself in fact the first page clearly says :The focus of the Art of Ba Ki Do is a long range development of respect for family values, education and self worth.Martial Arts is like sex, if you over complicate it with exotic sounding names, theories and principles, you end up fucking yourself in the ass. -Ronin69 -
