I used to think that going to the ground was really boring and that the UFC was just stupid.
Now, I love it. Of course, I love it when it's done well. I still can't stand when it's just some wrestler who keeps pinning the guy down and laying on him while doing nothing else.
But I appreciate the ones who are being technical and working for different locks, and holds so they can just pound on their opponent. -

Dude, still uninformed drunk crowds in my experience.
Here is my Bullshido podcast from our coverage of the IFL...you can hear many boos, drunks, and generally idiotic audience members...

Since Irish mma shows are still relatively small, they're attended almost exclusively buy mma fans and people who actually train, so the crowds are almost always brilliant, with a good atmosphere and appreciation for the more technical side. I'm dead certain that once it gets bigger and bigger here we'll have the same shitty crowds that attend football/rugby/gaa games.

I noticed that the last few UFC's weren't too bad, however, every live show I've been to has featured retards spouting:
"Deck him in the face, deck him in the face!" The voice is usually female and usually scary.
Screw those asshats and their love for one aspect of fighting. If they don't like grappling, go watch Muay Thai, Jesus. -

Yeah, I never understood why the fanbase is the way it is. I mean, I get why drunk hicks would love to see people pound on each other. But since they hate t3h gh3y jiu-jitsu wrasslin' I can't understand why don't just go watch kickboxing. Maybe since they like to see people get slammed and ground and pounded too.
