I was cheering for Pellegrino the whole time, mainly because of Nate's attitude. It seems like he is maturing though, so maybe I'll become a fan. That was so freaking slick.

I'm a huge Pellegrino fan, but even I'll say that it's a bit much to call Nate's win a "fluke." Rewatch the final minute of the fight, and you'll see that Nate was very deliberate in clearing his left leg over Kurt's shoulder during the takedown. He took good advantage of a mistake made on Kurt's part.
Yeah, I know. It just pisses me off when people who fight like me win. I figure it ought not to work, cause I can see the holes in the gameplan, but then...sometimes it does. But, see, what pisses me off more is that I abandoned fighting like that (for the most part) to go on roids and work on my top game. It hurts less. Marginally.

The funny thing is, I was really impressed by Pellegrino in the first. He started getting sloppy in the second, but man, the 1st he was an animal. It was obvious his wrestling was light years ahead of Nate's, and his BJJ looked great as well. Then the 2nd he started getting sloppy. I don't know what he was thinking going for that single leg at the end.

There's also the effect of fighting in Denver at that elevation. Pelegrino looked a bit gassed.

Nate and Nick constantly restrict oxygen to their brain by smoking special herbs so thy're probably better suited for it.

His BJJ is excellent. I keep asking myself why he has to be the new BJJ jesus instead of someone else. Maybe Eddie Bravo was right about ganja inproving Jiu Jitsu.

Too bad Pellegrino couldn't use Quinton Jackson's patented "slam escape from triangle".

I sometimes wonder if that has any validity. This one chainsmoking Albanian guy I used to play soccer with was a cardio beast, he'd usually run just about everyone ragged and usually smoked a cig right before we started playing to warm-up.

OK - I finally got to see the Triangle Heard Around the World. Very nice! I'm not a fan of either Diaz brother (I prefer my fighters a bit more hunky, less inbred looking) but you can't take away from the guys grappling.

So while the zoo-zhitsu was pretty awesome, wtf is up with joe rogan always introducing Nate as having "great boxing".........am I just blind? He looks like he's got tourrettes in his standup.
