Nate Diaz is BJJ in MMA appreciation thread

UFN spoiler don't read if you haven't watched it.

Some people (on the "Internets") complain that BJJ is dead in MMA, not that the techniques are dead, just that the fights aren't allowed to stay on the ground long enough for BJJ wizards to wear their opponent out and submit them.

While there is some truth towards the bias of standing fighters up for inactivity in an attempt to make the fights more exciting. Nate Diaz constantly puts lie to the idea that "BJJ is dead in MMA"

The difference between Diaz and some other BJJ wizards is that where as others spend time trying to safely pass half guard and not get hit, Nate takes risks, gets punched in the face yet keeps going for sub after sub after sub.

His Triangle on Peligrino was sick. The guy is a submission bull dog.

I think Nick shows that BJJ is very much alive in MMA but to be sub machine like him you have to open up your attempts and keep calm get resigned to fact that you'll take some hits but to stay focused on your game.

For composure and sticking to your game plan under fire I salute you Nate Diaz

He's more articulate than his brother. I think it's pretty difficult to say that BJJ is dead in MMA given the success of Minotauro, Frank Mir, GSP, BJ Penn, et al.

I'm watching it right now on tivo, Nate Diaz has some serious heart! Nate took some serious pounding in the first round, but, sets up the triangle in the second, and celebrates before the tap! GUTS.

I'm not meaning to attack them just poking fun, they are both well accomplished and excellent fighters I lend nothing but praise for their accomplishments. Peace bro.
