I cry, Dave Mewborn lost his match and had to go home, But I rejoice that Cale won his match and gets to stay and lay down the smack. Whoot! Hardcore Gym, REPRESENT!
I also cry that J-Lau was unfortunately no match for Kenny Florians MOUNT OF DOOM.
Rampage = HILARIOUS.

I'm not really digging this new format personally. Here are my three reasons:
1. I'd rather see training and behind the scenes action that builds up to the fight at the end, rather than just watching random fight montagues of dudes I've never seen before crammed into one show. I think that this new format kinda saturates the fighting on the show to the point that the first couple of episodes seem rather dull.
2. Dana said he came up with this idea to weed out the "pussies", though I think it could actually be detrimental. In the past, eveyone was on the show and trained, even if they lost on the show, they got exposure from the show and got to fight on UFN in case they just had a bad first fight. This had yielded many good fighters that lost on the show. With this new format, say for example the two best guys get randomly matched up in the prelims, no matter what the outcome, one of the top guys will be cut from being on the show. Even if it is a shitty guy vs a badass and the shitty guy gets lucky, it doesn't mean that he deserves to be on the show more than the dude that lost. I think that this is detrimental to the development and marketing of potential TUF stars.
2. I'm also a little bothered by the fact that these fighters were apparently brought onto the show, under the false pretense they they had "made it" onto the show, only to be informed that they had to win a fight in 48 hours just to make it into the house. I feel bad for the dudes who quit their jobs and made sacrifices to be on the show only to be sent home two days later without really gaining anything.
