they are both wearing boxing gloves and are having a k-1 fight in the cage.

i mean wtf this is meant to be mixed martial arts. i mean the other day they have a guy with a record of 50 street fights now are fighting pure standup.

If a guy prefers a stand up fight and can keep the fight standing due to good takedown defense, more power to him. I have no problem with that. But two guys simply agreeing to have a kickboxing match? Lame. Just do KB, them. Likewise with "complaining" (ala Herring) about a fight going to the ground because another fighter would rather take the fight there. Also incredibly lame.

Takedowns and the ground are part of the MMA game. If someone doesn't like that, and doesn't have the skill to keep the fight standing by DEFENDING takedowns, then F 'em. They should quit and go to K1. Same for fans that boo groundwork.

I think I saw that fight...poor Michael McDonald. He's a hero of mine, but man does he look old and slow in that fight. Very sad to see.

Whats the big deal? Kickboxing is entertaining and can reach to a wider audience. It's always good to mix things up a little bit, like the BJJ demo in PRIDE, or the MT match in Pancrase.
