If it helps, the guy was proven to be pretty useless when it came time to catch stuff under a live fire situation (meaning he wasn't allowed to set the distance, there was more than one archer, archers drew to full strength, etc.).
I'm still curious about the belts and catching titles though. Bullshido is still bullshido. -

Okay, then let's get serious about this:
James Demille? - Or James W. DeMile?
Because the James W. DeMile that was a student of Bruce Lee is a world-reknown Wing Chun teacher. Unless there's another one, of course.
Mr DeMile's website:
http://www.wingchundo.com/index.html
I don't want to anticipate anything, but if Mr Kelly lists Mr DeMile as his primary instructor, well, shouldn't he then list credentials in WC instead of all this other stuff?
HOWEVER, let's not discard the posibility that the Mythbuster guys might have inflated his curriculum.
From what is visible on http://www.anthonykelly.com.au/ this looks like a standard JKD/WC school/clinic to me. No other influences whatsoever.
(The other website seems down.) -

YouTube- Anthony Kelly - 1 Minute Punches - Guinness World Records - The Arrow Catcher
Doesn't look that extreme to me. My old Sifu could have done the same. Chain punches galore.
I call BS.
It seems to take place at a Guiness-sponsored event, though.
Also, the record has been broken by now, as it seems:

Without letting this derail (IIF is scary when he rants), I think it's safe to say that any regular athlete should be able to do this with, say, a month of training.
If I was training more regularly at the moment, I would maybe even try it.
Mr Kelly's main point achievement seems to be that exercises stuff that noone else gives a **** about.
Chain punches world record?! If Leung Ting finds out about this BS, the record will be upped like once every day for an entire month, just to **** with Mr Kelly.Last edited by Hiro Protagonist; 4/22/2010 6:24am at .

Blackbelt in Yang style Tai Chi? Like Cheng Man-ch'ing suggested? Maybe they didn't want to list every grade he has with its original name because it's a mainstream show. They weren't taking this ninja stuff too serious so they thought it wouldn't be important if the list is right, but bullshido.net takes this very serious and one should.
They had to get a "real ninja" so they threw in some publicity. -

I think an important detail in that list is it just says "black belt" and doesn't specify degree. He could be an asshole with shodan in a bunch of ****.
As a side note, I can't believe he got a world record for limp-wrist catching some arrows that were finish their arc before they got to him. I'm no archer, but that seems like a sack of ****.
