Ditto what most of the other posters thought. Frank stood on the outside and ate combos from Le. Shamrock seemed hesitant to throw any power into his low kicks, they all seemed timid to me. He had a good straight right, but he never set it up and would back up after throwing it. He lunges at Le with it at around 8:30, (video on Dailymotion) and man does Le make him pay hard for it. After Le figured out that Shamrock was a one-trick pony, the fight was downhill.

Overall: Great fight for Cung Le, very poor strategy by Frank Shamrock and he paid for it. Maybe he was injured before the fight.

Concerning the kick game: A more aggressive kick game means more of a chance to get taken down, Le got very lucky the first time when he gave up his back to Shamrock and Frank didn't do anything with it. The second time he ate a few punches and went to the ground from a kick, and if Frank had pinned him, he would have had to fight out of side mount.

So I'm intrigued by this new form of kickboxing with 4oz gloves that's going on, not quite sure what the exact rules are but it seems to have something to do with at least one of the competitors being called Cung Le?

I mean seriously guys, this is what, his fourth mma fight? In all those fights, all against people who's only hope of stopping him was on the ground we've seen all of two take down attempts.

That's clearly in no way suspect.

    a) That was not kung fu to me. Even if thats what Le studies it was not kung fu.

    b) It did take a long time for not Kung Fu to win in the ring

    c) Shamrock lost that fight because his is a asshole with a huge ego

6th. Cung is an amazing wrestler and his side kick keeps people at distance so they can't shoot effectively. Try to shoot and catch a knee/roundhouse kick, try to clinch and get thrown. The only good way to get Cung on the ground is to catch a kick and he's engineered his kicks specifically to be less powerful but way harder to catch.

I'm glad that Cung won this fight, but it might have been a different story if Frank wasn't such an egomaniac and to try to beat Cung standing. He would have had a much better chance if he pursued take downs aggressively.
