I did not hear Benny's comments but the Bill Wallace interview, the Interviewer said the Benny had said said the same thing. I will see if I can get the interview from NAPMA.

His school is actually a few miles from me. I find it odd that his school is so tiny yet the MMA school I goto has like seriously 100+ students.

BJJ might make you a better ground fighter, but Judo will make you a better dancer. Join us... or die

What a fucking ****. This is especially funny considering that Bill Wallace in his prime probably couldn't beat even the present day, elderly, Gene Lebel in a NHB fight.

I posted this thread on sherdog, so it could get more attention.

Though one thing i support super-foot on is deminishing TMA clubs.

It's good that people who want to fight go to MMA instead of karate(since most karate doesn't teach that) but those systems(TKD,Karate) should survive for the sporting aspect, and should continue to do so.

dont be dumb, Bill Wallace was probably the best karate practioner since oyama, and Gene Lebel, though awsome, is no where near fast enough anymore to contend with someone who can kick like a mother fucker and knows judo.

i didnt know that wallace didnt kick with his back leg ever. thats ridiculous, and its sad because i respect him even more as a martial artist, but even less as a commentator on the arts, especially since he has cross trained. i mean, i kinda see what he is saying when some one with as little technique as cris leben wins even when his opponent (alessio sakara) puts on a boxing clinic. but thats just it, people like marcus davis, alessio sakara, and antony hardonk, not to mention GSP and anderson silva have such goos striking that they could easily compete and win in boxing and K1.

but as for kicking in mma, i have never been so sad as when i saw shamrock try to kick someone in the head and just fall on his ass. but if GSP can kick Hughes in the head and not worry about getting taken down, and if a wrestler can destroy someone with front kicks (tim boestch) then kicks have a very real place in mma.

Well if that's how he feels on MMA, then so be it. I just think it's depressing a bit because of his legden status in the kickbixing world.

I wonder what he thinks about modern striking orgs like K-1/IKF/ISKA/WCL?

Lebell would DESTROY wallace. wallace is FAR from being in Oyama's leauge.
    16 years till retirement.

i never meant to imply that he was in oyama's league, but he was by far the best of his era and to the best of my knowledge (which is limited about karate) the best full contact karate fighter since oyama.

but i dont think anyone can honestly say that a 76 year old lebell could fight wallace in his prime, especially since he had knowledge/training in judo and wrestling, which was what lu tze was saying

I think you're both forgetting one Charles P Norris.
