He basically said the same thing in a NAPMA interview (On CD) which is interesting considering NAPMA has the Edge MMA add on program. Just shows they want to make monye on MMA but really despise it.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris

A very poor showing by wallace, I wish someone could get in touch with him and question him on this swerve against mma.

I think what shocked me the most was that Wallace sounded almost completely ignorant on the topic of MMA. His arguments were superficial, lazy, and totally ill-informed. If I didn't already know who he was, I would have assumed he was some old, cracked out TMA coot that had just heard about this new-fangled mixed martial arts business. I would have figured he'd watched a few fights and, like a true cracked-out TMA coot, condemed the UFC and its ilk to a short-lived, violent, meaningless existence until the fad passed and folks returned to mastering teleportation in aikido.

Actually a Wallace in his prime would have done quite well in MMA... He had a great left kick and he could punch well. He also did Judo throws really well as in early PKA you were a,lowed to do throws. Now he just sounds like a bad sport....

He drank that kool-aid the TMAers did when Kickboxing was popular. It is actually kind of funny and ironic.

He is using the same arguments used against kickboxing in the 80's. Difference is it hurt kick boxing and didn't hurt MMA.

What's happened to the BBM's circulation over the last 10 years? He's probably worried about his column's security.

WTF? It is a conspiracy I tell you. If this is true it smells more like a money making/advertising scheme.
