    Hell yeah! Hell no!

New MMC/UFC type show on TV

Has anybody heard about this show? I just watched a clip on YouTube. From what I gather it is a new show the Military Channel is doing, where they have army men fight it out similar to UFC. I found a link about it at the Military Channel's Website: http://military.discovery.com/tv/top-army-fighter/top-army-fighter.html

It's not UFC, but it still looks interesting. What do you guys think?

I think it will be interesting. You figure these guys are trained to survive for their life and not for sport.

Actually, I think this MMA they are doing is solely for sport, entertainment, and to distract them from the rigors of gay army life.

So basically they are doing a documentary on the Army Combatives championship?
Didn't Asia do pretty well in that this year?

I don't see the point, why not simply cover the All Army Combatives Championship?

Damn am I sick of all these new MMA shows. Everyone and their mother is getting into MMA and making a damn show about it. I never thought I'd be saying this, but there are WAY too many MMA shows on television right now. It's getting to the point where I don't even care if the premise is interesting or not anymore. They are saturating the "fastest growing sport in history" into oblivion.

Quoted summary in its entirety taken directly from their website:

"Using modern man-to-man combat skills that combine the techniques of Mixed Martial Arts and Army hand-to-hand combat,"

Translation: They train MMA, only with additionally top secret Army techniques that automatically make them better at MMA than actual MMA fighters.

"these men and women will test their skills against the greatest fighters in the world."

Translation: They will fight some local amature MMA tomato cans.

"This is the Army's version of Ultimate Fighting"

Translation: This show is about MMA, but we don't know the difference between the UFC and MMA.

"- but the difference is, the Army trains their warriors to cope with real-world life or death battlefield situations."

Translation: They are like MMA fighters....only way cooler!
