Yeah, if you can't tell I'm on a tear about using the Encyclopedia Wolf and Tom have slaved long nights and weekends working on.

Much as I think it's probably sort of a good thing for women to have the vote...them bitches was just bitter old hags that advocated prohibition and other such social engineering gayness.

I'm not quite sure if this is true (maybe Hedge can help out), but supposedly many men consented to give women the right to vote to have a higher voting advantage over blacks.

As in women were claiming that without their vote, blacks would come into power.

I remember reading that somewhere, but I can't remember where.

Um...that doesn't compute, unless black women were NOT going to be given the vote, and it also assumes that black people were actually allowed to vote in reality (not in legal-fantasy-land). Black people STILL barely get their votes counted.

Some of them advocated prohibition, others didn't. The suffrage movement was full of factions pushing various other social causes.
