What? He gambled his winnings in an attempt to pay off his bills? I know some people can go to a casino and turn a profit, but that's because they're good and they know when to quit. He even defended his decision to gamble his winnings away? Well, at least he hasn't fallen back on alcohol, but damn, that is some horrible decision making.

I felt marginally bad for him until i read this crap. No offense, because i don't know him, but Evan Tanner is a loser. He's a loser like a character from a movie. Like Johnny Boy from Mean Streets. Now you may ask if I regret it, if I would do it differently if I could, if I would take it back. NOT A CHANCE!!!!! Oh, I feel a little depressed right now. I feel a little worn out physically. It does suck to have to scrape together pocket change to buy food. But I wouldn't take anything back. I went for it. I put it all on the line. I always will. I knew what the consequences would be if I failed, and I was willing to accept them. So any of you reading who might be feeling a twinge of sympathy, don’t. I made my decisions, and I accept the consequences. I’m no victim. And to those who are thinking about preaching at me, don't bother. I won't hear you. I haven't accomplished anything in this life worth remembering by playing it safe. That's boring to me anyway.
I thought maybe he went and put down $15k on red in roulette or something. If he had no other way to get the money, that i could at least see. But gambling for 10 days straight for 24 hours makes him just another degenerate.
It's impossible to make money in the long run at casino table games, unless you're a skilled card counter at blackjack and even that isn't easy. Playing the way he did he was 100% certain to lose, it was just a matter of time. He actually was up, and still couldn't leave = degenerate. It's a good thing he got off the booze, but it looks like he traded one addiction for another, which is common with addicts.
Again, if he's 100% happy he pissed away his money like a moron when he's 38, doesn't have many fights left, and just got knocked out that's great. I look forward to him getting his ass kicked next time because he has no money for food and training and is generally stupid. -

We all do some sort big of mistake in our lives, but goddamit!!! Some people are naturally retarded and Tanner is one of them. His bravado for 'going for it' is just that, self-fellating bravado.
'Yah I did it, I went for it' is just a lame self-cop out that allows them to look at themselves in the mirror when, deep down, they know they fucked up big time. It is fine and dandy to retain some sense of pride, but that lame mentality stops them from accepting not just culpability, but responsibility to fix whatever **** drives them to do stupid **** decisions again and again and again.
I hope Tanner gets his **** together one day and finally grows up.Read this for flexibility and injury prevention, this, this and this for supplementation, this on grip conditioning, and this on staph. New: On strenght standards, relationships and structural balance. Shoulder problems? Read this.

The street argument is retarded. BJJ is so much overkill for the street that its ridiculous. Unless you're the idiot that picks a fight with the high school wrestling team, barring knife or gun play, the opponent shouldn't make it past double leg + ground and pound - Osiris
