    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    American Karate Training Centers

So this place is right by my house, and i was thinking of attending it, however, i would really like to have someone here check it out, or see if they have any knowledge of it.

    www.american-mma.com

I sort of get a mcdojo vibe, but i really am not the expert here...

It also strikes me as odd, that the "sensei" has an am. record of 0-3-0. and no pro record...but not everyone is a great m.m.a fighter...

    Can someone help here, plz

Just curious, but why can't you check it out yourself? You say it's right by your house.

I do plan to, however, i figure if it can be exposed as a mcdojo, i can save myself time and money...

I'd really appreciate any help :(

Why don't you investigate and let us know...ask to take a few classes for free, most schools will let you do that.

On his "Calendar" it indicates he is having a seminar with Dan Severn, go, be nice and ask to touch the mustache.

that seminar was a while ago...

I called. He said that they can promote all the way up to tenth dan blackbelt, however, the guy is only a 2nd degree blackbelt. I don't know anything about american karate, but the logistics just don't make sense...

The rates are crazy low...75 a month for 6 days a week (unlimited), and they've been around a long time, over 20 years.

And i've googled all over, and even on the

    http://www.americankaratesystem.org/

website, there is no mention of that school, the instructor, and it explicitly states that you can not recieve a blackbelt until your 18. Surely the only person to ever recieve one before 16 would be listed SOME-WHERE!

Can someone in the know look into this, please.

Why don't you PM Tom Fox.
He is an instructor in American Karate and may be able to give you a little information.
