Valhalla V (03-15-2008) - Unofficial Results!
Valhalla V MMA took place this past Saturday, March 15th at the Dulles Sportsplex in Sterling, VA. The event is sanctioned by the Global Combat Alliance (GCA) and featured the best amateur MMA fighters in the Mid-Atlantic United States....
Fight #1: Kendall Herring (red) vs. Alejandro Richardson (blue)
This fight was a a rather slow-paced fight. The fight remained upright for considerable time as both fighters took a rather cautious approach. Blue corner used a standing defensive position with his back to the fence as his “guard”. Unfortunately, he didn’t quite do enough to give him the decision on all judges cards.
Winner: Kendall Herring (Majority Decision)
Fight #2: Bao Khong (red) vs. Bryan Robey (blue)
Wow! What a sweet fight to see up close and personal! Red was like a snake when he struck, and like an eel when his opponent tried to get hold of him! In round 1, he seemed to have an answer for everything. However, blue was patient and finally found the chink in red’s armor, achieving mount and GNP.
Winner: Bryan Robey (ref stoppage - rd 2)
Fight #3: [SCRATHED]
Fight #4: Steve Terrell (red) vs. Tim Mohr (blue)
Good back and forth action. Blue took first round. Red takes second, nearly KO’ing blue near the end of the 2nd round. In round 3, red takes blue’s back for a RNC. Blue does not tap…
Winner: Steve Terrell (RNC - rd 3)
Fight #5: Nick Gentile (red) vs. Joey Ponce (blue)
Blue wins by early tapout in round 1
Winner: Joey Ponce (armbar - rd 1)
Fight #6: Bryan Tovalt (red) vs. Ned Vergara (blue)
Exciting first round with plenty of back and forth action. Looked as though it would be continue to be an action packed fight until the 10 second warning at the end of round 1. Blue appeared to hear the warning, and relax his guard, while red turned it up, catching blue with a knee to the head that he never saw coming…
Winner: Bryan Tovalt (KO - rd 1)
Fight #7: Arvin Terrell (red) vs. Allen Greenway (blue)
Blue corner made it clear from the opening bell that he wanted to stay on his feet. Having considerable height and reach advantage, he succeeded for the most part. Both fighters displayed a bit of gun-shyness, though, and weren’t eager to mix it up. Blue finally got red down to the mat in round 3, only to get tapped out.
Winner: Allen Greenway (armbar - rd 3)
Fight #8: Stan Myaskovsky (red) vs. Jody Morgan (blue)
I spoke with blue’s coach after the event, and was told that his instuctions were to use striking until his opponent succeeded taking it to the mat. The fight never made it that far as red caught the knee to the face as he attempted to shoot in.
Winner: Jody Morgan (KO - rd 1)
Fight #9: Anan Aiadeh (red) vs. Justin Dolton (blue)
Red was in control of round 1, until he suffered a point deduction for striking to the back of the head. So rather than let this go to the scorecards, he finished the fight in round 2 with a submission.
Winner: Anan Aiadeh (RNC - rd 2)
Fight #10: Eddie Abramski (red) vs. Bryan Lashomb (blue)
After taking a knee strike to the face, blue began fighting overly conservatively and was submitted.
Winner: Eddie Abramski (Triangle - Rd 1?)
Fight #11: Jeff Daly (red) vs. Randall Gordon (blue)
Red corner had the height and power advantage, and used them well. Finishes the fight with a round 2 GNP.
Winner: Jeff Daly (KO - rd 2)
Fight #12: Terrill Leech (red) vs. Matthew Aten (blue)
Blue steps right into a thunderous overhand right 17 seconds into the 1st round.
Winner: Terrill Leech (KO - rd 1)
Fight #13: Roger Carroll (red) vs. Kris McCray (blue)
Both fighters visibly gassed after round 1. Blue takes round 1. Red takes round 2. In the final round, it was blue who mustered up just enough to close the deal.
Winner: Kris McCray (Unanimous Decision)
Fight #14: Rich Patishnock (red) vs. Taylor Dixon (blue)
This was the main event, scheduled for 5 rounds. It only lasted about 30 seconds.
Winner: Taylor Dixon (RNC - rd 1)
Awesome thats two more wins for my gym :-)
how often does valhalla hold fights? I know a few guys who are interested interested in fighting (amateur mma) sometime this spring or summer.
Valhalla holds events almost every other month. Check out: valhallafights.com
There are two organizations further south in Hampton Roads that have regular fights as well.

Fight 4 has rounds one and two backwards. It should read
Good back and forth action. Red took first round. Blue takes second, nearly KO’ing red near the end of the 2nd round. In round 3, red takes blue’s back for a RNC. Blue does not tap…
