I was actually just being sarcastic. I have never actually shot cowboy action shooting.
Basically you shoot at targets 5 feet away as fast as you can with single action revolver and lever action rifles. All while dressed as a cowboy. I myself would like to try it, even if it is a little LARPy.
I want to buy a revolver in the near future and I figure if I can play cowboy while I'm at it why not? -

I've seen them do that crap with the modfied .22's where they shoot several targets in a matter of seconds. It's very impressive. I'm just stuck on the longer range shooting. I like trying to figure out the differences in wind, heat, humidity, round, etc at different ranges. I only with I had the ability to make my range out to 1000. I don't think I'd ever do anything else but shoot if I could do that.

I highly advise buying "The Rifle Shooter" by David Tubb. That book, plus an accurate rifle helped me jump from Marksman to Expert in short order.
Do you handload? If you keep at this game you'll definitely need to start. I'd look into a light 155 gr load for the short line, less recoil will definitely help. Also, make sure you've got the National Match blade. Trying to shoot 10's on a 300 meter bullseye with the fence post that comes on a regular M1 Garand is a total pain.
