It also seemd kind of suspicious how the wrestler kept letting the boxer up. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this was a work.

It was a work. Marteny and Larson traveled around during the early '30s performing exhibition matches for $$, like modern pro-wrestlers.

I think a boxer with no ground training does not stand a chance. like Floyd Mayweather calling out guys in the UFC. Put Floyd againg the top fighter in his weight class in UFC and he probably would never run his mouth again. which would be a good thing.
