I doubt anyone would be fighting if they had "AIDs", since they probably wouldn't even be able to train at that level. I can only assume that you're referring to HIV? An Immune Deficiency Syndrome can be Acquired (hence AIDS) through many means, HIV being only one of them.

I don't know if I would call it that . He had them read a story from the old testament of the bible (before Jesus) and then gave them a metaphor to think about. They didn't have to if they didn't want to (Danzig).

It was certainly self-righteous and egotistical on Hughes' part, but saying that he "made them do Jesus Prayers" is kinda misleading. He was pretty much giving his version of the "I'm the coach, I'm here to help, it's for your own good, yatta yatta" speech. I'm sure Serra gave a similar themed pep-talk, only with less scripture and more swearing.

By the way, I'm not defending Hughes. Hughes is a douche.

Also Sean Salmon's little Crane Kick thing didn't lose him the fight. It was the shin across his face that did it. Otherwise he wasn't doing half-bad, if you ask me. If he had managed to win, we would be talking about it like it was showboating, like something that Mayhem Miller or Krazy Horse would do.

It did look pretty dumb, but there was no way he earnestly meant for that kick to land.

I don't think that Crane Kick was that dumb because, like you stated, he was showboating. What was really dumb was when Nakamura tried to seriously use the technique against Machima. Nakamura is making a lot of appearances on this thread.

I can see the meeting now.

"You know what would make Royce Gracie vs Sakuraba 2 more exciting for the kids to watch? A DJ! Kids like DJs, right? Anybody know any DJs?"
    "Uh....My cousin's a DJ looking for work."
    "Perfect."
