I don't care who he gets wrecked by, I just want to see whether he lives up to the hype, and that means putting him in the UFC.

It would hugley Ironic if he ends up in the UFC and Randy is left out in the cold.

People knock Zuffa but really they're the only game in town who have demonstrated that they have the effective long term plan.

I dunno, elitexc getting a network TV deal strikes me as pretty good evidence of some effective long term planning. For all that Zuffa has done amazingly well going it their own way, they still haven't cracked the big 2 piggy bank deliverables yet, a network contract and a major league sponsor.

Network deals can mean a lot or very little. Whos'e paying the production costs, selling advertising and such.

My fear is EleiteXC is building it's brand on Kimbo who will loose to the first decent B level fighter he faces.

Also I think CBS is assuming people are MMA fans, when in fact the majority are UFC fans, and they won't be terribly patient to let EliteXC grow and develop.

Also once UFC get's a Newtork deal (and they will in time, on thier terms) EliteXc will be in trouble.

Cuban won't get Randy out of his contract, and Fedor is not a big enough name in the US to buld a start up around, especially if you protect him with Tomato cans.

Once a ruling comes in favor of the UFC re Randy watch Fedor cave and sign.

Also, how does Dana rationalize his marginalization of Fedor?
Now granted mma-math is flawed, but how is the guy who has repeatedly and clearly beat your interim champ not going to be one of the best? Particularly when your interim champ finished the healthy version of a guy your "real" champ took to the judges.

The same way any ball fan rationalizes that their former start player sucks now that he's been traded to the other guys.

I've never gotten the impression that formal logical proofs were high on Danas list of priorities.

I think it will be more like watch Dana cave and sign. You're forgetting Dream, who I'm sure would pay through the nose to get Fedor. Dana has to realise that the Randy/Fedor fight would be a monster PPV draw. Randy has made it public he wants to fight Fedor and Fedor is ranked #1. I don't think Dana can let Fedor slip to another organization again. Whoever has him will just get all the publicity and be recognised as a legit competitor to the UFC when Randy fights him.
