I don't understand? point fighting punches?

Yeah, for sure, the "bigger" the glove , the slopier you can be with your punching form, up to a point.
I always do the first 3 rounds of my bag training with gloves, the NHB kind, then the rest of the workout is bareknuckle, it keeps my punches tighter, better and I haven't hurt my wrist in, 3 years.

yes, the fist, altough I have seen some guys just whipping there arm on hooks without a care because the gloves absorb the impact.

I've been checking on this thread at work, but I had to wait until I got home to reply.

I really think people are looking too deep in trying to define this "point sparring punches" thing. The only person that really knows what that means the person who wrote it. Why doesn't somebody track him down and ask him.

My personal guess, judging from the context in which it was used, "point sparring punches" are like traditional "karate style" punches. Look at this picture:

The guy punching is the point sparring puncher. It looks to me his non-punching hand is chambered at his hip. You don't see that very often is MMA.

As far as the one boxing glove guy. His name is "King" Arthur Jimmerson, a pro boxer with some sucess (ranked 10th by the WBC at that time with a record of 29-5). The only reason he wore the glove was for show.

Jimmerson was the highest paid competitor in UFC I, guaranteed $20,000 just for showing up. Jimmerson knew nothing about fighting other than boxing, and was picked to fight Royce to keep him fresh for upcoming matches. Royce took him to the ground and the guy tapped before Royce even attempted a submission. Royce simply headbutted the guy and he tapped, took his money, and went home. He never really cared about winning.

a rabbit punch is a punch to the back of the neck, sort of a looping punch, done when you are in front or to the side of the guy you are punching.

Punisher - I saw that picture.

But......
1. Note the rotation of the hips, that twist punching doesn't seem to have much of a rotation from what I've seen.

2. I don't know if his hand is purposely at his hips or he his just swinging and opening up himself trying to do power shots.

i think ur memory is wrong:D...he just got double legged ,mounted and he tapped. he didn't even get hit or submitted, just taken down and mounted. unles you consider that ass kicking...
