Beacuse of the gloves... boxing gloves are best with boxing like punches, snap punches don't work as well with gloves, the Kinetic energy is dissipated, back fists and ridgehands for example, are bare knuckle techniques, they don't work as well with gloves and as for the reverse punch... well if you have ever done it with gloves and without, I am sure you notice a difference.
Jabs, hooks, uppercuts, straights and crosses are the most effective punches to deliver with gloves on. -
