We were doing drills today on the thai pads, and I think in the past week or so I finally broke my bad streak of just totally sucking at kicks, to now being able to be sorta decent. But I hit this really flimsy thai pad pretty hard and almost 20 minutes later right under my pinky toe is swollen; black and blue. I can move the toe just fine so I'm not sure anymore!
Any advice is totally appreciated.

Rest and ice it intermittently for a day or two. If the swelling doesn't go down in about 3 days its probably a fracture.
I'd say don't bother getting an xray because they don't not to pick up all the tiny bones in your toes.
There are two camps here 'train with broken toes' 'don't train with broken toes'. I'm on the 'keep training' wagon. I'd just put some tape over it and keep going.
However maybe an MT'er can come and give you better advice.

I'm coming off a similar injury; rolling with one of the guys, my only point of contact on the ground became my toes, bent backwards (towards my shin) very far. My foot rolled towards the pinky, deflecting it even further and I heard a pop. A couple of hours later, she was swollen, black and blue. Three days later, the whole top of my foot was bruised and it was painful to stand for long periods. Toe moved fine, unless I tried to push it sideways away from it's little pink brothers. Then it was a wonderful white pain.
Jump ahead 3 weeks, and it's still sore. I couldn't kick with that side for the pain, but otherwise trained on. As already mentioned, ice, ibuprofen and rest are your only allies. Even if it's only badly bruised (as I suspect mine was), the treatment is the same as for a break. The docs can't do anything for a break in any case.

Kick with your shin, and tape that sucker up after your ice it and ****.

Tape it to your other toe. I used to do Judo and we were constantly breaking our toes. The hospital won't treat them, so we must. Pick the ones that break the most often and tape them together to make one bigger toe. Some Judoka do this with their fingers too.
I started taking some wrestling classes and made some toes black. I think they are just hyper-extended, but I need to remember to tape ...
