Have anyone heard of him? He is a sambo blk belt? at x3sports in atlanta.

AFAIK, there is no formal belting system in SAMBO.

...but some SAMBO instructors have an "inhouse" ranking system that uses belts. So a SAMBO black belt is not unheard of.

Well, I have can't recall where I heard the name, gut is sounds familiar. The rank's credibility depends on who gave it to him. He mentions training with Gokor who does not give such ranks to my knowledge. Maybe Arce knows this guy?

Found this old 2002 thread for LA Boxing in Atlanta (I guess Tucci was there). So he must have been doing sambo a while if by 2002 he was claiming to be a "Russian Sambo Champ"

If you would like to submit a demo please come in person look for me between 4:30 and 9:00 p.m. and we can add your CD. Each class averages between 10 and 30 members 6 days a week. Some of the Atlanta Falcon Cheerleaders work out there on a regular as well.

Come train over at our gym with our jiu jitsu instructor tony tucci. he's a good instructor has trained all over here in atlanta hes a black belt in jiu jitsu and apparently hes a black belt in sambo under gokor (same guy as fedor emelianko). Give me a call at our gym (404) 525-2269 ask for Brandon. You can call tommorow until about 2pm and i'll be back in the office monday all day.

Ok, so this is not Tucci speaking, but 1) Gokor does not award sambo belts, 2) Gokor never trained Fedor! LOL

So, this is an odd quote from the 3xsports website:

X3 Sports offers Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) classes incorporating Russian Sambo and other submission grappling techniques. Our GI and No-GI Jiu Jitsu / Sambo classes are sanctioned by Helio Soneca to teach under the Gracie name.

How could Soneca sanction Tucci to teach sambo? That would be like the ASA sanctioning BJJ.
