    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    Vertigo? Oh No!

    Hey all you fabulous Bullies!

So, I'll give you a quick rundown of my situation.
In November, I caught some kind of virus in Australia, or on the flight back.

Either way, it was one of those "with hilarious consequences" kinda deals.

It lead to a torn intercostal muscle which has (thanks to two partial re-tears) sidelined me since December.
How does a virus tear one of sochin's manly muscles? I coughed so hard, I tore a muscle that I'd (apparently) injured working out with some guys boxing in Oz.

So, eventually, the muscle tear is better. Good times.

Except now I've been diagnosed with viral labryinthitis. Bad times.

Apparently, I have vertigo. Room spins. Balance is off. Spent most of Sunday wishing I could be sick, but couldn't. Exhausted 'cos I can't sleep properly. Can't eat. Can't drive. Hell, I can't cross a road safely because I can't turn my head without falling the fudge down.

So, this is the bit where I ask the audience if any of you mofos or mofettes have ever had this seemingly innocent yet utterly debilitating illness?

    If so, any advice?

Oh, aikido ukemi for the win this weekend.

Dude, that sucks. I've never had anything like that. But i did hurt my neck once (i fell out of bed and landed on my head, good times) And strained something or other, i dont know. Anyway, all it really did was make it so there was only one position i could hold my head in without being in pain, which just so happend to be turn about 40 deg to the right, titled upward slightly.

I spent the next three days walking (somewhat awkwardly) into walls and looking downright retarded.

    I have no useful advice,

    however,

room spins and a general unbalance should serve you well in your future Aikido endevors.

I feel for you. Last year I sneezed so hard that I felt a pop in my ear, and the world started spinning like crazy. Rather unexpected and holy sh** unpleasant. Took several minutes to get back to normal, and my ear would pop all the time for the next month.
I can't even imagine having vertigo all the time.

    You mean tandoori, right?

The tablets the doc gave me deaden the sensation of dizziness, so it's less of a problem than it was and the nausea's gone.

I should probably stop being a whiny bitch and enjoy looking like I'm doing drunken kung fu:toothy6:

LOL... Like I said earlier, my ukemi have never been so useful.
[sarcasm]Anyway, the room spinning makes it difficult to grab a wrist... we all know that the wrist has to be absolutely static so there's no hint of aliveness in t3h r34l aikido[/sarcasm]

Don't worry, there's always an injury with my name on it waiting in the wings, it seems!

have you done any experiments to find what your "natural" rate and direction of spin are?
