When I was overweight, I use to constantly get headaches, and heartburn. I was also very lethargic. I never new that it was all the sugar and refined carbos I was eating. After all, we're all taught that low-fat is good and stuff like bagels, pasta, rice, and breads are good for us - WRONG!! Not only are they NOT good for us but they are addictive (at least for some of us). Once you get the sugar out of your blood (takes about 3/4 days) and go through the withdrawals you will see how much better you can feel. And that's only the tip of the iceberg!

The only thing about the Atkins Diet that I don't like is that.... it is called a DIET. If you want permanent fat loss in your life. It requires SERIOUS and INTESIVE LIFESTYLE CHANGES. ATkins is a lifestyle to be affective.
Carbs are not the body's perferred source of Fuel - Protein is. The more protein you eat the better you will feel. It has been said repeatedly that carbs *GRAIN* make one sleepy - I know when I have Chinese food - the first thing I want to do is take a nap if I eat the rice. Same goes for pastas, potatoes etc. If it was the best source of fuel for the body, why then wouldn't it FUEL the body instead of telling it to shut down? Eat a protein bar - you will get WAY more energy from that than a bowl of oatmeal.
Don't get me wrong I like carbs just as much as the next girl - but I have come to understand what exactly they do for my body - and I don't like it. I prefer to eat High Protein, Low Fat, Low Carb in order to maintain the appropriate energy levels for my lifestyle?

Not quite fat is. Just be sure to get enough complex carbs in the moring to give you the energy you need for the whole day, it'll make you feel less lethargic.

i know a couple ppl who've tried the atkins diet, and they did lose weight, but it comes back as soon as u try to go back to a normal diet. Plus, i hear ur breath smells bad on account of ketosis(not really sure what that is tho)
