Wing Chun is the only Martial Art that has the stigma of making people worse fighters then completely untrained people.

Does all of the chun hate really stem from it simply being a crap system? It seems to have some alright moves (a few good trips, sweeps, joint locks) like hapkido or JJJ, but they don't get half the flak that the chun does. Or does everyone just hate the chun because it has the most irritating nutriders of any martial art?

Have you studied it or going off videos?

Most people that think it is viable (in modern times) are nutriders. Hapkido gets **** as does some JJJ they just don't argue as much.

I hear that if you take

Aikido, Systema, Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Go Kan Ryu, Kaze Arashi Ryu, Konigun Ninjutsu (and some others I've missed)

...If you train really hard, in like 20 years or so, you'll still not be able to fight.

You know, I may have to reevaluate wing chun. If a fucktard like the question hates it it must have some good points.

Question, when someone wants your opinion they will.....wait, no one would want it so they wouldn't do anything. Damn, you make phat phil look good. Have you had that bleach cocktail yet?

Take the BJJ or Judo, if you want stand up try boxing or kick boxing / MT. Wrestling is good also.

Look, if your dead set on what your going to train in, your going to train in it regardless of what the people here say. If your hearts in it, you'll get good, but you'll have to train your weaknesses, and practice the hell out of yourself to get there. I say go for it if you want it, and ask people who've been to that school, not strangers on an internet forum.

As far as I know the chun contains a single trip: an outer reaping throw called osoto gari in Judo and JJJ. But since Chunners believe that actually practicing it in free sparring is bad for you, they never learn how to pull it off.

Plus it teaches you to punch with the pinky knuckle, which is just silly.
