MT in the lehighvalley/allentown (PA) area?

Does anyone know of any mt gyms in the lehigh valley? I'm hesitant w/ the gym i've had trial classes at, which seems to be the only one in the area which is lvirk.com .

edit: the gym i took classes at had you drop the hand you were round house kicking with. Is this proper technique, or is it american kickboxing? They also do not seem to be working with thai pads and the classes aren't very physically demanding. They do teach teep kicks and clinching though.

Hooligan. They're the only place that I know of that is Muay Thai and MT only. They have a myspace site that you can pull up if you google it. Rat pack in Palmerton has Muay Thai/Kick Boxing. The instructors are cool and it's a good workout, in my opinion. There's sparring afterwards as well. Good luck in your search! -C

I think what you see is what you get. A group of people that train hard in MT. Looks like they're meeting with some success in competition, also.

I was looking to get a hold of those guys as well. Guess the only way to do it is contact thru myspace. I heard they were using space at Baer Martial Arts, but the website for that school makes no mention of it. Maybe you can call and see.
In MT you do drop the hand. It helps create a "pendulum" motion which increases power in the kick. It also helps one keep their balance.

alright thanks for making that clear. I really wanted a good work out w/ addition to learning though and plus when doing the drills sometimes pads aren't used so we aren't allowed to use full force.

If you aren't using any kind of pads it sounds like "cardio muay thai" or some **** like that. I hope they at least have some bags.

If I were you I would definately try to get a hold of the Hooligan guys. Do you have a friend with a myspace account? You could contact them that way.

http://www.round1pa.com/ These guys also have some Muay Thai. Maybe you could check them out as well.

they have bags, they just don't use the focus/smaller pads, now that i think about it it probably was legit muay thai, it just wasn't what i was expecting. I wanted something where u could perform the techniques full force, it just seems more practical that way plus it would work your body harder.
