    Rain,

Are you saying you do all those things on a regular basis? B-ball, tennis, running, etc?

Pizd, yes, 3 or 4 different doctors looked at my step during walking and running. I tried to follow the cheaprelief link but it wouldn't load.

keinhaar, I USED to do all kind of physical activity, just not anymore. :(

J-kid...I will look at my vitamins, I am not sure if I am taking Vitamin E. Why Vitamin E though?

Sucks A. Not much left besides doing the bare minimum of those activities which you can live without, I suppose.

Austin is one of the best cities in the United States.
Normally, I'd say I was grappling, but I was taking down and mounting people, and JFS has kindly informed us that takedowns and being mounted are neither grappling nor anti grappling, so I'm not sure what the **** I was doing. Maybe schroedinger's sparring, where it's neither grappling nor anti-grappling until somoene observes it and collapses the waveform, and then I RNC a cat to death.----fatherdog

It sounds like you know more than anyone else here about the problem.

Have you tried taking a signficant amount of time off those activities that cause it ?

FingerorMoon - Yeah, I twice took 6 months off. It would feel a little better, but after a while, it would come back even worse than before...

Heel-walk 30 feet everyday.. that's what I did the first time I had shin splints, and I never got them again...

Man that sucks, 6 months should be long enough while rehabbing.

The only thing thing I can suggest is organising your exercise around things that aren't going to affect it.

Cardio - bike riding and swimming

MA - do an art that focuses heavily on grappling so your not doing much kicking or bouncing around on your feet.

Hi there. I play an underground sport called footbag, where just about every single player in its history has suffered severe shin splints at one time or another because of the demands on the lower legs. I myself could hardly walk at times.

Check out this guide from a footbag site:
