Most folks get gas from the protein. Are you lactose intolerant? Whey is a derivative of milk.

No - not lactose intolerant. But definitely something is going on. Took it on an empty stomach. Going to eat something and see how I feel.

What me? I'm taking **** all. I thought whey was a supplement, not a replacement though, it makes sense not to take it on an empty stomach... you don't need to be a dietician to know that ****'ll go right through you.

Whats the difference between the 3? I have both Isolate and concentrate. I get alot of gas using the isolate.

Hydrolysate is the best for the "immediately after workout" protein hit, it digests faster than the other two (as it is, essentially, already partly digested chemically speaking). For the protein top-up, or late-evening pre-sleep snack, a blend of the others is better as they are slower digesting and a better stomach filler (as much as a shake ever is).

Hey, what is the brand name of the whey supp? Sometimes an inferior brand will cause gas and the runs The whey shakes they make at my gym is made with low-grade protien and it will tear my stomach up.

It's "Body Fortress" vanilla flavored powder. Got it at Walmart. I was mixing it with water according to instructions - didn't taste bad.

They said to use 1-2 scoops before and after workout. Took 1.5 then had lunch. About an hour later I did my usual sets of squats, press and dead-lift. By the end of that my stomach was empty. Took another 1.5 scoops. Then .... a few minutes ... rush to the throne ... hour goes by ... repeat. Ate as big a dinner as I could and am feeling ok now. But a bit nauseous still.

FYI: I am also taking Hydroxicut and amino-acid supplements. Oh yea ... Creatine too. Been taken those for a while with no problems.
