Look at child actors whose careers go south when they arent cute little kiddies anymore. Most of them end up in jail or rehab or both.
When my tax dollars begin to pay for them, they become "my kids".

I think he meant "What the f--k?" Hope that clarifies things.

You just gave an argument why letting children box or play Rugby, or maybe even that padded -up thing you call 'football' at school is wrong.

I only think they should give them headgear. I dont think an 8 year old has enough testosterone to build muscles that could actually cause brain damage. I also dont think that when they stop doing mma they are going to need to vent their *agression* on random bystanders or whatever old man was talking about. Thats what Grand Theft Auto is for.

I clicked on this thread all excited to see some cool fighting. I was surprised by the ferocity of those kids. I wouldn't let my child take a beating like that for fun. They need to tone it down a bit and the ref needs to learn to stop the fight WAY earlier.

I teach kids Jiu Jitsu -If I saw something like this I would have the parents and the promoters locked up.

And what makes you think that?

Kids shouldn't be hit in the chest. Blows to the chest of children who aren't fully developed can be fatal. See "commotio cordis". There's a number of deaths caused by being hit in the chest by a baseball.
I can't imagine getting hit in the head is so great either when you are small.

Also, as for submissions, most grappling tournaments have restrictions of submissions in the younger age divisions. It's my understanding that these rules have to do with avoiding screwing up developing joints and stuff. I watched the video without sound, so I'm not sure if they mentioned anything about that.
Now, I've actually been to Thailand and witnessed children that young fighting full Thai rules without protection. I was a little disturbed by it, and judging by the response, some of you guys would've been too. But, for reasons mentioned by others, it's different there. People there are just trying not to fall through the cracks in a country without a safety net.
This is not the case here. These kids have the luxury of being kids in a country that, for the most part, lets them be kids.
Interesting to note, though, that I saw kids' fights in Thailand where the ref stopped the matches for less than what whoever the prick was who was reffing those kids in the MMA fight let those kids get away with.
