ADVICE! on stance! (please i need it)
here's the thing, i've been fighting for going on 14 years now. But for the past 6 years i started training iin muay thai and boxing. (before i was doing tkd and brazilian jiu jitsu which don't require one to stick to a stance)
I THINK i might be ambidextrous, i write with my left hand, but i just feel more comfortable in a orthodox stance.
I'm highly considering learning to fight southpaw or ambidextrous just for the advantage it gives. Is... it worth it? and if it is, should i just go southpaw or train ambidextrous (however one happens to train that way)
i'm only 21 so its not that late in the game. i would really love some input.
Generally speaking, the strongest leg should be in the back.
Also, ask your trainer.
i'm currently in med school so i've been basically self training.
Both my legs are equally viable options really :( . orthodox stance feels good but i wonder if that's just because that's the stance i'm used to?
i may just have a buddy hold a bag and see which leg is the strongest. any other suggestions would be great though!
Self training Muay Thai is an ineffective farce. Get a coach before worrying about what stance you think you might like to fight with in some imaginary fight that is never going to happen because you don't have a coach.
