I also thought that yudo and judo were the same thing in different languages. Found this link:
http://www.usadojo.com/styles/about-yudo.htm
If I read it correctly, I think it says that yudo is the unbastardized version of judo? -

I'm pretty sure that alot of that was inacurate. In anycase, though I was damn sure I wasn't incorrect, on the off chance there was something I missed I researched the two and found.... that the impression I was certain of was correct. So, that being said, in order to ensure that Charles Bronson up there doesn't pull a death wish and rip the top of my skull off, I'll explain what I said in better detail;I met a guy of Korean decent at a tournament [stop] He was practicing what I recognized as Judo [stop] I asked him where he had been practicing his Judo [stop] He told me that he did not study Judo he studied Yudo [stop] I thought they were the same word and same style [stop] He had pronounced Judo with a Y and triedMonkeyScrotumCleaning.tv to make it seem as though they were different terms as well as different styles [stop] I found this idiotic [stop]Hopefully I better expressed myslef and did not read wrong information.... if I did, I will be guarding my apartment door with a crowbar in expectation of an overly aggressive middle aged caucasion Buddhist come to tear my skull out.
