Maybe Brock's got a chance...

Found an intersting article about former NCAA champion wrestlers and their careers in MMA. Brock's in there with some good company and just maybe he wont suck as bad as i think....

Interesting side note of the article, it mentions Slyvester Terkay who fought in some K-1 cards. He too (Terkay) was also a professional wrestler in southern California.

I am rooting for Mir, but flipping through spikes little preview thing last night, he was not talking like a guy who thought he was gonna win. Any money I was gonna put on this thing would go on Brock for sure.

As far as overall "MMA" Technique, I give it to Mir. Unfortunatley, I think Lesnar is going to be too strong for him. That is what will when Brock this match is strength. Or maybe he'll surprise us and do alot better than most expect.

as i see it, it's going to be an early KO for brock or a unanimous decision for mir. i can see brock going full bore berzerk early then gassing out and getting outclassed. but when it comes down to the green backs, i'll take the -150 on brock

I'm genuinely curious as to why people think he's going to KO him. He's never KO'd anyone, ever. I'm not saying he won't but as far as I know there is no evidence of him having a stand up game and the last I heard (about a year ago), his training partners were tossing him around with ease on the ground. If that's still the case then owning the takedowns is just going to mean he can choose whether he loses standing or on the ground.

Are they going to test Brock for 'Roids, or does he get a pass because he's with the WWE? I can only hope Mir destroys him. Mir does a good job on WEC and he needs the break, whereas Brock can just go back to pro wrestling, which is probably better paying for him anyway, at this point.

If anything I think Brock will win by decision or Mir by submission. Brock is easily gonna score takedown points. If he's in guard he may just sit there for a while, throwing a few strikes and then getting stood up again.

Mir is more likely to gas based on his last few fights.

If Brock wins, all the WWE dweebs around the world will be vindicated. It will be a horrible day for real sports. Even if we all know he had trained for this fight, they will all swear it was the pro wrestling skills. Thus spike will play even more stupid TNA wrestling, and we will get more man opera on our TV's.

This is what I'm really worried about. Mir absolutely has to win, no matter what.
