I actually know this, it was two, as I trained at the Gracie Barra in Miami for four-days around Christmas. Nice guys, didn't even make me wear the Gi.
I've seen a lot of variation. Under my old BB you got a white belt stripe every-time you won your tournament division, and blue had something to do with winning. This seems to be the way the Carlson guys do it in Chicago.
I'm about 500% more worried about the Blue to Purple though. -

Edit: In this case approximately 96 hours, give or take, is blue belt. Interesting. If I had started with that school last year I'd easily be blue belt by now, if they stuck by this, possibly a stripe as well.
